Postcard from Zakynthos

This postcard is a greeting from a late-summer evening on the beautiful holiday island of Zakynthos. 

Out on the horizon, and closer to shore as well, rain-heavy clouds are gathering—dark and unhurried—with the promise of rain that has not yet arrived. 

The dark sea lies calm beneath the sky, almost expectant. 

Everything carries the feeling of a quiet moment in which summer is taking its leave.
